Sustainable alternative to tie up your gifts
Sticky tape or "sellotape" is usually made of a type of plastic called polypropylene and is generally not recyclable. There are great alternatives available such as natural cord/twine, wool, washi tape (made from renewable sources such as hemp and bamboo and biodegradable) or brown paper tape, which are both easy to use and attractive.
It's important to remember that wrapping paper can’t be recycled if there is sticky tape attached. When putting wrapping paper in your recycling bin, be sure to remove the sellotape first.
